Our ‘built to last’ Tawny Owl box is based on a tried and tested upright design by the British Trust for Ornithology.
These are outdoor good quality nest boxes suitable for fixing to a tree. We recommend resting the box on a bough of a tree using a strap to secure the box to the tree.
Hand-built by our volunteers from sustainable, FSC-approved pressure treated 18mm plywood. Waterproof roofing material. Sealed joints throughout.
Please note. Wood is a natural material. Shrinkage/expansion, warping, wetting/drying and mould, discolouration, cracks and knot holes are to be expected. Our boxes are individually built by hand using tolerances akin to carpentry not cabinet making. Minor variations are normal. Gaps around floors may occur and are advantageous.
