Volunteering opportunity: come plant hedgerow with us!

Thanks to the Woodland Trust MOREhedges scheme, and the generous support from The Titcomb Foundation who have helped us start our rewilding journey, we’ve secured our first volunteering opportunity: connecting two woodland shaws using a native hedgerow mix!

Habitat connectivity is important to ensure wildlife can move across landscapes, helping ecological processes such as seed dispersal. Hedgerows and scrub habitats also provide valuable habitat for many species, such as the nightingale which we have found breeding at Maple Farm.

Circled below is where we are planning on planting hedgerow. After an exciting conversation with ecologists from Knepp Wildland we’ll hopefully pursue more experimental planting - trying to move away from straight lines!

If the details below work for you and you’d like to join, please do send us a message. Also please tell your friends/colleagues!

Hopefully we’ll get the chance to meet lots of you in January, and talk about how we can work together in future!
